FormulaFun scoring

Closest to the real finish wins.

FormulaFun uses a position-distance score. You are rewarded for calling the final placement as closely as possible, not for copying F1 championship points.

The core idea

Every slot is scored by how far your pick landed from the official result.

An exact pick scores 0. If your P2 pick finishes P4, that slot scores 2. Add every slot together for the session total. Lowest score wins, like golf.

01

Make the board

Pick the finishing order for the number of places your league uses.

02

Measure the miss

Each driver gets the absolute difference between your predicted position and the actual position.

03

Add it up

Your race, sprint, and qualifying scores roll into the weekend and season standings based on the league setup.

Example

A close miss still keeps you in the fight.

In a podium league, this entry scores 2 total points. Perfect would be 0.

Pick Actual Finish Slot Score
P1 NOR NOR finished P2 1
P2 VER VER finished P1 1
P3 LEC LEC finished P3 0

Pick depth

Podium
Pick the top 3.
Points Scorer
Pick 10 for Grand Prix races and race qualifying, or 8 for sprint sessions.
Gear Head
Pick the top 20 for the full-grid challenge.

League standings

Total Score
Season standings rank each player's cumulative score. Lowest total leads.
Head to Head
Players receive a frozen round-robin matchup each race in the selected season. The lower complete weekend score wins.
Final results
A matchup stays pending until every configured session has official results and calculated scores.
Missed entries
A missed event receives its maximum score: 9 for Podium, 100 for a 10-pick Points Scorer event, 64 for an 8-pick sprint, or 400 for Gear Head. In Head to Head it also remains a forfeit; if neither player submits, the matchup is a no contest. Rotating byes do not affect the record.
Qualifying
If your league includes qualifying, those picks use the same closeness rule and add to the weekend score.

What happens when a driver misses the scored range?

If a picked driver is outside the official scored range for that session, that slot receives the event's pick count. In a 10-pick race, that miss scores 10, so outside-range picks get costly fast. Ouch.
